"Mother and Child" is a fierce, neon-expressionist reimagining of one of art history's most sacred subjects. Through my "Archaeological Fission" method, I have stripped away the traditional, passive serenity of the motif to unearth the raw, animalistic reality of maternal protection.
Inspiration & Philosophy
This work captures the electric bond between creator and creation. It is not a portrait of quiet contemplation, but of survival. The figures are bound together in a field of deep reds and structural blacks—symbolizing a psychic shield against the noise and chaos of the external world. I wanted the viewer to feel the absolute, unyielding weight of love when it is pushed into its most primitive, protective state.
